NEW BEGINNINGS
The Capital Campaign of Caraway Conference Center and Camp
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God had done from beginning to end” Ecclesiastes 3:11
In its inception in 1963 Caraway was established as a place of new beginnings. The initial new beginning was for North Carolina Baptist to establish a traditional summer camp setting for boy’s in the Royal Ambassador program. Since that time, through the summer camp, new beginnings in Christ have occurred for over 7000 boys ages 9 to 17.
New beginnings have also occurred through the year round use of the summer facilities as a youth camp. Countless groups, both religious and non-religious have retreated in this special placed were young lives have been refreshed, renewed and many have responded to life changing callings and commitments. In 2009 over 8000 young people were served through the youth camp facilities.
In 1976 another new beginning took place when an adult conference center was constructed on the property to serve as a strategically located center for adult conferencing. North Carolina Baptist from all walks of life has received training, inspiration, and continuing education through the conference center. As well countless other religious and non-profit organizations have been served through Caraway Conference Center’s ministry of Christian hospitality throughout the years.
New Beginnings happen every day at Caraway where it is through the miracle of creation throughout the beautiful 1100 acres of natural environment or through the individual lives that come as guest to Caraway.
It truly is a place of “New Beginnings”
2010 marks another new beginning in Caraway’s history. The “New Beginnings Campaign” is a 7.5 million dollar capital campaign to fund a master plan, “ A New View of a Shared Vision”, that was completed in 2009. The master plan is not only about facility expansion, but also for future ministry growth. The master plan is based on suggestions from staff, individual guest, churches and guest groups collected over the last twenty years. However prayer and Devine leadership have guided the vision from the start. The “New Beginnings Campaign” will be conducted over three years and accumulate with Caraway’s 50th anniversary in 2013. The expansion will be conducted in three primary phases.
The New Beginnings Campaign welcomes all gifts large or small that will assist in the accomplishment of this great under taking.
